• Shaquille Webb-Dixon, Fusion’s exciting star, will be back in action after his impressive performances in theast two home matches. Expect his trademark power and control to keep the crowd on their toes!
• Larry Trumpauskas, who will be off to China for training,  and the runner-up in the recent National series in St.Neots.  He is sharp and ready to lead Fusion to victory.
• Lorestas Trumpauskas, England’s No. 1 veteran, will bring his dynamic skills as always, and will fight to the end to secure a victory for the home team.You can count on him to do his best.

The Fusion Woman’s team prepare for battle

Fusion 1 Set to Begin an Exciting Season in the Women’s British Clubs Leagues

As the Women’s British Clubs Leagues season begins this weekend, Fusion 1 is ready to step back onto the court, hoping to reclaim the title they proudly held two years ago. This year, the team is looking more determined than ever, with a talented lineup that includes U21 National Champion Tianer Yu, the seventh-ranked Tsz Yan Nancy Yeh, and the skilled Tiana Dennison. Returning players Maria Engelson and Elena Todirca will also play a key role, bringing both experience and consistency after impressive performances last season.

Fusion 1 may be a team to keep an eye on, but they’ll have plenty of competition. Last year’s champions, Drumchapel Glasgow Ladies 1, are back, hoping to defend their title even as they adjust to the absence of one of their top players, Yat Poon. And Ormesby TTC 1, last season’s runner-up, has strengthened their squad by adding Welsh internationals Lowri Hurd and Lara Whitton, creating an exciting lineup of skilled teams in the league.

Meanwhile, Fusion 2 has been competing in the first division for over four years. Although they earned a promotion to the Premier Division two years ago, current league rules prevented the move, as Fusion 1 was already in the top tier. This rule has limited Fusion 2’s progress, and it highlights the need for a change to allow deserving teams the opportunity to advance and compete for top honors, regardless of another team’s standing within the same club. This season, Fusion 2 has welcomed new players Lois Perryman, Molly Brown, and Supriya Saketharam, joining Jyoothimayi Vaishnavi Ghanta to bring fresh energy to the team as they continue to establish their place in the division – it will be tough but I am sure that they will make an impact.

Fusion teams are eager to start strong, focusing on each match as they work toward their goals. It’s sure to be a season filled with great moments for all teams involved, and we’re looking forward to seeing Fusion’s spirit and commitment shine through.

The wait is over! The new Senior British Clubs table tennis season kicks off with an intense clash as Fusion Table Tennis Club takes on BATTS (Harlow) in a must-see match that promises thrills and high-level competition.

Spotlight on the Fusion Team:

Fusion’s lineup is packed with star power, featuring:

• Larry Trumpauskas – Fresh from last week’s U21 National Cup where he triumphed over BATTS’ Ralph Pattison in a gripping match. Larry’s performance earned him a bronze medal, but deserved much more. Ranked 13th in England, Larry’s determination and skill will be crucial in this season opener.
• Shaquille Webb-Dixon – Currently ranked 19th in England, Shaquille is known for his dynamic play and fierce competitiveness, making him a key player to watch in this exciting encounter.
• Tianyi Yu – A university student with a relentless work ethic, Tianyi represents the heart and dedication of the Fusion squad.

BATTS Brings Their Best:

BATTS will bring their top players to the table, including:

• Chris Doran – An experienced international competitor with an exceptional ability to control the game and outmaneuver opponents.
• Joshua Bennett – Ranked 10th in England, Joshua’s tactical play and wealth of experience make him a significant threat on the table.
• Ralph Pattison – A powerhouse player, Ralph’s aggressive style,  and recent U21 National Cup champion. He will renew his rivalry against Larry Trumpauskas to add an extra layer of excitement to this matchup, after his defeat in the recent U21 National Cup

Today in Prague, Fusion TTC’s dynamic duo, Francesco Bonato and Freddy Wilke, showcased their exceptional talent and teamwork at the Prague Junior Grand Prix 2024 International. Competing in the U19 team event, both players demonstrated remarkable resilience, advancing through their group on count back with notable victories.

In one of the tournament’s highlights, Freddy Wilke’s endurance was put to the test in a tough 38 minute match against a skilled Danish defender (Snorre). His resilience and strategic gameplay secured a vital win for the team. Followed by Francesco Bonato’s fighting spirit shinning brightly as he overcame a 2 games to 1 and an 8-4 deficit, a comeback that was crucial in helping Fusion TTC advance to the second stage of the main event.

Despite facing challenges and not being at their peak performance, Bonato and Wilke’s determination and cohesive play were instrumental in their success.
