Fusion’s finest is on the road this weekend — bat in hand and eyes on the prize. Daniel Pavia has touched down at Draycott Table Tennis Centre in Derby for the England Hopes Challenge, a two-daydogfight — to the winner the spoils

This isn’t just another weekend tournament. The Hopes Challenge sits inside the ITTF’s global talent pipeline — the Hopes Programme — a worldwide hunt for the next generation of table tennis stars, open only to Under-12s (born 2014 or later).
It’s the engine room of the sport’s High Performance pathway, built to unearth talent and grow the game everywhere it’s played.
The path to the top is brutal and simple: win the England Hopes Challenge, and earn a place at the World Hopes Week camp in Sheffield. Then train with the top talented players from all over the world. Get through this, and the world starts to look a lot closer.
Ten boys are will be fighting it out for a single Hopes place that’s up for grabs – the winner will go to Sheffield this October.
